Three Sentenced For Fake Bear Attack Insurance Fraud On Luxury Cars

Three California residents received 180-day jail sentences after pleading no contest to felony insurance fraud involving fake bear attacks on luxury vehicles. Alfiya Zuckerman, Ruben Tamrazian and Vahe Muradkhanyan wore bear costumes to stage attacks on a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost, 2015 Mercedes G63, and 2022 Mercedes E350, submitting videos to different insurance companies. State investigators launched “Operation Bear Claw” after State Farm flagged suspicious footage showing the “bear” moving like a human rather than an animal. A California Department of Fish and Wildlife biologist confirmed the creature was “clearly a human in a bear suit.” Officials noted brown bears haven’t been seen in California since the 1920s. Search warrants revealed a bear costume with fake claws at the suspects’ residence. Story URL
